REGENT’S

Our story

At Regent’s Events, we’re proud to be based in the historical grounds of Regent’s University London. Situated in the heart of a Royal Park, Regent’s has a rich and diverse history spanning over 200 years.

The Royal Park

Regent’s Park was brought to life by John Nash, the favoured architect of George IV. Surrounded by classical terraces, the park spans over 410 acres, complete with a lake, canal and several villas. Today, our university now occupies the site once home to the South Villa.

Education comes to Regent’s

Her Majesty Queen Mary officially opened Bedford Ladies College’s new site in Regent’s Park. Purpose-built facilities included laboratories and the Tate Library, while Reid Hall provided a welcoming home for students – a role it continues to play for Regent’s students today.

A royal legacy

Queen Mary’s Gardens were created in Regent’s Park to preserve our royal connection. Today, our Regent’s logo pays homage to both the Tudor heritage and the Gardens’ impressive display of 12,000 roses.

After irreparable damage from air raids in 1941, rebuilding began. The work was completed in 1951, when the Herringham Building reopened.

Bedford College relocates

Male undergraduates were admitted to Bedford College for the first time in 1965. Later, a merger with Royal Holloway College led to the institution moving out of Regent’s Park.

Regent’s University London is born

In 1984, the Crown lease was taken by Rockford College, Illinois, which founded Regent’s College to provide a study abroad programme with a British focus. Over the years, other institutions joined the campus, and in 2013 this thriving academic hub became Regent’s University London.
