Regent’s Conferences and Events has been lucky enough to remain open for the majority of this year, delivering a variety of safe events in spacious surroundings. We were able to hire out our event rooms from April 2021 to our clients who were training providers. As this describes a large proportion of our weekend clients, we went back to working full time on campus in March 2021. We were constantly challenged in ensuring that our clients could be accommodated within classrooms with changing conditions that adhered to government guidelines.
For our efforts, we achieved secure venue accreditation from the Meetings Industry Association, and an increasing number of clients returned heartened by our ability to provide premises that allowed the safe delivery of events.
As summer approached, we were inundated with requests for our fabulous outdoor spaces, but still managed to increase our client base using the indoor spaces. We were delighted to welcome new clients and saw the establishment of three summer schools using our facilities until September. With demand for summer 2022 already growing significantly, we’re seeing the diary fill swiftly and enquiries coming in a lot earlier than normal.
September saw a period of extreme activity on the lawns which at one point had continuous functions from 1st -20th September inclusive. We also saw increased confidence from our weekend clients which saw the return of 8-9 of our regular clients that month.
We were rewarded for our efforts with the Silver Award for Best Summer Party Venue in the London Venue & Catering Awards 2021.
Term started at the end of September which saw an end to the outdoor events and the slow return of conferences during the week. This has remained the pattern for the rest of the year – an increase in weekend clients and private events and a steady return for longer-lead conferences into 2022.
We enter another Christmas with another ambiguous introduction of restrictions, but fingers crossed, we’ll be back in January to welcome many of you to Regent’s for your special occasions. We’re hopeful for a positive 2022 and our tumultuous experience this year stands us in good stead to continue safely and securely delivering your events.
